Rosters, Low Turn outs & High demands

The Genesis Champion’s League has reached a new level of intensity as the competition heats up along with the weather. Much anticipation surrounds each match day and the saga ensues.

Such is the case for match day 5 where, The Red Side came out strong, declaring their dominance with a larger roster. With a lackluster roster showing the Gold Gemz, the Red team managed to emerge victorious. It can be heard in the wind that Gold players were showing signs of frustration over their smaller numbers, but they continued to fight valiantly. Unfortunately, their efforts were not enough to stop the Red team from claiming their victory.

As match day 6 rolled around, the Gold Squad made a renewed effort to turn the tide, but ultimately fell short once again. Team manager Mahad remained optimistic, stating, “…We will see what next week brings, we will have to adjust to our new roster and put the pieces where they belong. Its a long season ahead.” Despite the losses, the motivation and determination shown by the Gold players was commendable and spoke volumes about their dedication to the league.

Meanwhile

The Committee is preparing for their April 14th club meeting and the eagerly anticipated Genesis Premiere League, scheduled to begin on April 16th. Spring Flowers, Clashes & Tournaments

Dubbed the El Clashico: Spring Flowers Edition, the thrilling competition between the Red Side and Gold Gemz for the Genesis Champion’s League, taking place on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the next three months, started with a bang, and a bang it was. In the opening match, the Gold Gemz impressed with their skill and determination, securing a victory in the first game. It was the Gold Gemz to the winners circle with a boom blast from the left foot in the 76th minute of play. The Man of the match, MoneyWave silenced the skeptics and the crowd with a banger and that was all she wrote.

However, the Red team on Thursday quickly bounced back, showcasing their teamwork and resilience in an onslaught reminiscent of Vikings raiding English coastlines. The Red team said that they were going to bring it. They brought it and served it. Meal made courtesy of Mackie, Jah-E and Man of the Match Chad, who had an exceptional victory over the Gold team who fell by the wayside like an horse out to pasture on that day. Nevertheless, this commentator is left pondering what happened?

With the series tied at one game each, the stage was set for a nail-biting match day 3 as both sides can be seen talkin “smack,” as the kids say. We will see who prevails on next Tuesday March 19th upcoming match.

Meanwhile

With all this excitement and flowers in the air, Genesis players continued to showcase their talent and determination in the one-day Spring Soccer Lime tournament hosted by Lee Entertainment. They showed up and showed their quality, took the tournament, won all 3 matches and went home with the trophy. All in a days work for the now dubbed “Rellow team, by Roy X, indicating the coalescing of the two Genesis Champions League competitors. In the opening match, it was the defenseman Jamie with the banger who drove fear and angst into the opponents heart as they realized that the Genesis Lightning did strike and did not come to joke. The next goal was followed up by from the next defenseman Jiggy with the coffin nails and it was a wrap as the match 1’s victory was secure. More or less ensued, for match 2 and 3 was in the bag for the Lighting. From the precision of goal scorers El Loco, Emilio, and Rajae, Genesis demonstrated their ability to dominate the field and secure the victories over whoever may “fawud.”

Hot in the cold & the heat up

Hot in the cold? yep, the 2023 Winter season of the Genesis Championship League kicked off to a lot of excitement and fervor. It seems like the players were eager to get back into competitive form for the Tuesday November 14th kicked off. As usual The Gold Gemz were back in quality form after a horrible pre-season showing and thrashing from the Red Side the week before. As stated by the team management, “we knew we were ready for the task ahead and no doubt are ready for the three-peat…” It was a strong showing from both teams but there could only be one winner and the result was obvious. According to Mr. Mahad, “…we came to play, they came to play around…” Added to the league were a few new players, the likes of Julius, Delibe & Chevy. We want to say, “welcome to the competition,” as stated by Ahdjogo with his signature pile to Delibe on Tuesday nite.

However, Thursday nite was an entire different animal. It seem like the Red management sent the call out to some Red players who might have been “lay laying” around. The Red Squad came out in force and the battle was hot and intense. Some solid playing and defending by the Red team was all that was needed to shake up the Gold Team and even up the competition with a, as some would say, “lucky” 2 to 1 victory over the Gold Gemz. Next week Tuesday will certainly be a good one because both teams are refusing to relent. We the spectators here are looking forward to a great and exciting season of Genesis Futball.

Meanwhile

The Genesis Committee is looking and weighing in on the regretful incident between Chad & Lando that caused the unexpected end of Thursday’s match. Knowing, the Committee they will come to the best decision that they can make in fairness to both parties for the club and the league. Adhering to The Genesis Code of Conduct is on the forefront of their decision making. We will wait and see the outcome and report it here for you.

“One A Day” Ray is still in recovery from his unfortunate injury at the end of the summer season. We know he has been hitching to get back out there on the pitch and help out his team. Wishing a speedy recovery to him and Donald who also suffered an injury last week.

Draws & Smiling Faces

Yep! the 2023 Fall season of the Genesis Premiere League kicked off to a lot of excitement, anticipation, curiosity and… expectations. Losers say that they will be winners, di Winnerz say dem nah loose (again). Previous champs proclaimed their title, they have it to show, pictures and all, stats and more.. Yes lots of smiling faces, new kits and all. Champion Squad was adorned in their fiery red kit while, I could not decide if FC Kill Dem reminded me of a zebra or not. They took the pitch with black and white striped themed kit reminiscent of olden days jail house style uniforms. Maybe that is their theme or moniker to go with their namesake. Still, I jest but you can not miss them on the field. Meanwhile, di Winnerz proclaimed that their kit is coming from afar and have not yet arrived but soon to be unveiled. Likewise, Blue Bomberz do have a new kit in store. Nevertheless, a site for the masses. New team mates greeted each other and the contest began. After the whistle blew, one group ended up on field one and the other field “few,” as the man dem say. With vigor, zeal and determination, no one wanted to lose their opening game, so they did not. It was a draw across the board and it remained so for match day 2.

Meanwhile

Genesis ace reporter Stephen Krayfish was spotted in all the excitement as he reported with zeal and fervor. Claiming, that contracts have been signed and relationships have been mended, he will be the voice of the Genesis airwaves for the years to come. The crowded cheered for his brand of reporting that have been missing from the ole War Report days.

The Genesis Club is sending out best wishes to “One A Day” Ray as he heals from his surgery incurred in last season’s championship quest. All the best for a speedy recovery, Ray.

Tragedy & Triumph

Ahhh… Take a deep breath, it has been a tumultuous week or so. Steve, the manager of The Champion Squad, got the tragic news that his son died in a motorcycle crash, which no doubt affected the energy in Genesis and the GPL in the past 2 weeks. Champion Squad was slated to play di Winnerz for the 3rd place Knock out trophy but they chose to forfeit. Albeit, rain fell on the day of the scheduled competition and it was a forced postponement for Tuesday July 25th in which another strain took place. In the heavy and intense battle for the Knock out championship, Ray got injured due to Jerome slipping when trying to protect the ball and ended up with a broken ankle. Take a deep breath… and another one… When it rains, it pours. Sigh.

The good news for FC Kill Dem is that they beat the Blue Bomberz and took the 2023 Summer Knock Out trophy as the results went down to penalty kicks. The ole veteran himself, English was the only one that scored, undoubtedly making him the hero for the day. It was a fierce battle and FC Kill Dem rejoiced, while Blue Bomberz lamented. They will fight another day. For pictures and videos of this encounter be sure to visit : https://www.youtube.com/@GenesisFutballClub – the Genesis You Tube Channel and select the Knock Out play list.

Proving League
   Top Goal Scorer: English
Trini aka Emilio came away with top goal scorer for all leagues. Congratulations to all for a job well done.

The quest for the Champion’s Leagues trophy was already in hand for the Gold Gemz as they retained their championship status for another season and put to shame the Red Side who has being rumored to be constantly spitting out sour grapes over their ceaseless thrashings.

In the Proving League, it was the Rookkeyz who surprisingly pounced on the wily Veterans for their championship title. Sir Nicolas gladly accepted the trophy and knows that his team will be a force to reckoned with this upcoming season. He said that they will not relent, and will go full throttle in defeating the ‘ole boys.’

In between time

The new 2023 Summer to Fall season is set to get underway. New recruits and club members are lining up to join their new teams. According to Mr. Mahad, team manager of the di Winnerz, “there is still room in the pool,” meaning all who abides by the Genesis Code of Conduct are welcomed to enter the draft. He says that he is definitely looking forward to the new season after ending up in last place and narrowly escaping relegation. He also chooses to exercise his option to rebuild with 4 new players based up that ruling cast down from the bigger Genesis body.

Championships,Trophies, Cards & ‘the Chad’

Well the Premiere League has culminated to the final official game for the season on Thursday July 13’s match between the Blue Bomberz and FC Kill Dem where it was said to be one for the ages. The Bomberz only needed a tie to emerge as League champions and that they did. Desperate to defeat the Blue Bomberz was a barrage of attacks hurled from FC Kill Dem as a white wave took over the pitch on several intervals. To no avail, a Blue wall was standing firm. The Bomberz drew for the small goal all time defense, in this case it was the 611 formation. Led by the big defender and man of the match Jerome, who in the absence of manager Roy X, stepped up and captained the ship out of treacherous tumultuous waters.

Kill Dem had nothing to do, but win at all cost and they released the dogs of war who were constantly thwarted at every turn. As stated before in the game recap, “…It was recorded as their goalie only touched the ball once for the entire match.” As a matter of fact, as a reporter on the sidelines watching the spectacle, I did not know what the goalie’s face looked like because him and the goal were constantly covered up by 5 defenders for most of the match. Not to say that the Blue Bomberz were only playing defense, they had many counter attacks and raid of their own which were also unsuccessful.

Keeping all that chaos in check at all times, was Genesis’ emerging superstar referee, “the Chad,” who was not having it from either team. I saw yellow cards and yellow turning into red. I saw great performances from Joel, who should be nominated for best actor on a football pitch. I heard warnings, insults, expletives and frustration as the battle for league champion climaxed. In the end it was the Blue Bomberz who emerged champions for the season’s 18 game run and at this point, ”yuh caan tawk to dem.” Congratulations to the Blue Bomberz as champions of Genesis Premiere League inaugural season.

Meanwhile

The race for the Champion’s Leagues is already over with one match to play, the Red Side is too far behind in points to catch the Gold Gemz, who will emerge as champions. All they have to do at this point is show up to claim their prize. Knowing the spirit of that team, I say that they plan to show up and add more salt to the wound. We will be there to report on this unfortunate season for the Red Side.

Also, the Proving League’s championship race will be just as hot. The Veterans are only three points in “not-front” of the Rookkeyz. The winner of that match will determine the league victor. I certainly plan to be there with cameras, mics and note pad in hand. This one will be fire and could possibly be the upset of the season if the “old boys” defeat those young lads.

In between time

Nick, Kill Dem’s big defender had to miss out on his team quest for the championship because of his two yellow card which led to a red on Tuesday July 11th game between Kill Dem and di Winnerz. After being ejected for a red card, after the match Nick could be heard sending expletives to “the Chad,” who he felt unjustly gave him his second yellow which resulted in that dagger-ing red card. As we know, in the spirit of “the Committee,” such behavior will not be tolerated according to the Genesis Code of Conduct. We will see how much time Nick will receive for his behavior. Will he miss out on the next week’s Premiere League Knock Out tournament? Not to be out done by Nick, Faz also could be heard hurling words at “the Chad” in the final game. The Committee certainly will have their work cut out for them before the first game of the Knock Out, which Faz will miss due to his flaming red card.

Don’t miss out on next week’s episode of “Games in Genesis” to get the “passa passa,” “cassa cassa”, plus true news, here on the Genesis Networks.

Blue Bomberz , GPL Champions.

Fire Works, Prospects & Tournaments

On Jul 2nd, 2023, the Genesis Lightning entered their first official tournament to a modest result. As to live up to their namesake, it seemed as well as they played, lightning could not strike the goal. Don’t get me wrong, it was not a matter of skill, speed or athleticism, the young core had that on lock, it was a matter of finishing and capitalizing on their afforded chances. The first 2 matches resulted in a loss and a repetition of possession but no prize. Finally in the 3rd match, it was CashApp, the youngest team member that put one in the net. However their opponent equalized and the match ended in a draw. Hopefully this experience will serve as a jumping off point and an anchor for the work that lies ahead for the young strikers. Not to worry, their future looks brighter than a unicorn’s rainbow mane, shining with enchantment and a gleeful four year old child.

Meanwhile…

In the Champion’s League, the Gold Gemz are running away with the trophy. It seems like the Red Side should be put out to pasture like an old horse from those ancient cowboy days. No more need to be said towards the calamity that is the Red Side on a Monday afternoon. Whispers are heard and inquiries strive to get to the answer, of why they are loosing so often. Such is also the faith of di Winnerz in the Premiere League, who can only settle for 4th place with 2 more games remaining in the season. On the other hand, in the Proving League, the Rookkeyz are also running away with a 6 point lead. The Veterans seem to run out of gas against a much younger “not as experienced” side, who on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 rallied to beat them 4 to 2.

In between time…

“One A Day” Ray, fresh off his suspension, returned in top form and zeal to aid in a pum-sit against a flailing Winnerz side, who as previously mention, just cannot get it together. The new season is around the corner and hopefully with their team option to cut 4 players, they can bring in a new crop of cohesive team oriented, focused players, who will help them from the quicksand they seem to be stuck in.

Upsetting & Voting

“!!! What happened? I felt like I got kicked in my head by a mule, accosted… I felt like some one stole my lunch money…,” these are the words from the team manager of di Winnerz, Mahad. To say the least, that was another frustrating defeat to di Winnerz who refuse to change their team name. “Its just a rough ‘Patch‘ we are going thru…,” proclaims Mahad.

Insignificant is the other result of the week compared to the mauling, harassment or “bad-uping” that took place this last Thursday, June 29, 2023. Not only was it a spectacle for the ages, it was a sight to behold and an event not to be mentioned within the hallowed confines of wherever each team member of di Winnerz (side) reside. To say they played like a team on that fateful day is to send down lightning, brimstone and fire on the person who dares to mention such things. That is how the pendulum swung and The Champion Squad could not be any happier. Patch cannot get enough praise for his harrowing but remarkable feat to score consecutive goals in order to revive his team from a 2-0 deficit in the second half of that “day not to be mentioned.”

While di Winnerz were getting mauled, the other teams were fighting tooth and nail not to loose any footing in the GPL league table. There is only three games left and anyone but di Winnerz can win the coveted top spot.

Meanwhile…

The Champion’s League cannot be slept on as the Gold Gemz secure another feather in their cap to dismantle the Red Side this past Monday. At this point it seems like the Red Side is just dead in the water and not even attempting to swim or row the boat. As this is going on, the Proving League’s competition is burning hot as the Rookkeyz are fighting hard not to concede any ground to the experience of the Veterans.

In between time…

The new season is around the way and the general club body voted for the direction in which the GPL will navigate. Each team will now have the option to drop up to four players and put them into a pool that will be randomly shuffled. This pool will feed into a fifth or sixth team, which gives any displeased player a better option to shine and work with their other club members.

“One A Day” Ray is revving to participate again in the GPL as his one month suspension comes to an end after Jul 2nd. “One A Day,” who was the leading goal scorer in the GPL despite his time off the league, will be ready to gain some ground on Patch who is the new leading scorer and is being hailed as Player of the Month.

for the ages…

On Sunday Jul 2nd, Genesis FC will enter their first official tournament as a united club. Looking forward to a skillful, uplifting top shelf performance from the GFC Lightning.

Frustration & Rain Dancing

Tough losses in the GPL as another match week goes by. The big loser for the week seem to be di Winnerz after two devastating defeats in which they failed to find any ground in the league table. Sitting in the catbird seat is the Blue Bombers with their manager Roy X smiling like a Cheshire Cat from a Lewis Carroll fairy tail. FC Kill Dem is fast on their heels while The Champion Squad being not far “not front.” With Only 5 games remaining in the season, fifteen points are up for grabs. The tension flairs as these juggernauts jostle for every call and advantage they can get in order to get the win. Referees have to be stern and immovable to prevent the often frustrating pleas for justice. In the meantime, legend has it that it can be heard in the media interviews, Garfield claiming “… dem a waste mi talent bro…” We will see what match week 8 brings to the GPL. Can any of these youngsters heed the cries of the elders to “knock the ball, pass and stop the one bag of dribbling..?

“… I’m wasting my Talent bro with my side…”

Meanwhile…

An eagerly anticipated match between the Vets and the Rookkeyz had to be cancelled and postponed due to rain. The weather seemed to be fine until the last hours before match time when a barrage of rain fell and soaked Wade Walker’s Front Field where the match was suppose to take place. As one of the elders stated, ” I heard the youngsters were doing a rain dance and praying to the sky gods.” Veterans manager Sir English Klop proclaimed that “.. we are going to put them away early next week, still! ”

In between time…

“One A Day” Ray is still serving his one month suspension for breaking the Genesis Code of Conduct and is eagerly awaiting his return to The GPL. Despite his time off the league, “One A Day” is still the leading goal scorer in the league, with 3 goals credited to him.
