Frustration & Rain Dancing

Tough losses in the GPL as another match week goes by. The big loser for the week seem to be di Winnerz after two devastating defeats in which they failed to find any ground in the league table. Sitting in the catbird seat is the Blue Bombers with their manager Roy X smiling like a Cheshire Cat from a Lewis Carroll fairy tail. FC Kill Dem is fast on their heels while The Champion Squad being not far “not front.” With Only 5 games remaining in the season, fifteen points are up for grabs. The tension flairs as these juggernauts jostle for every call and advantage they can get in order to get the win. Referees have to be stern and immovable to prevent the often frustrating pleas for justice. In the meantime, legend has it that it can be heard in the media interviews, Garfield claiming “… dem a waste mi talent bro…” We will see what match week 8 brings to the GPL. Can any of these youngsters heed the cries of the elders to “knock the ball, pass and stop the one bag of dribbling..?

“… I’m wasting my Talent bro with my side…”

Meanwhile

An eagerly anticipated match between the Vets and the Rookkeyz had to be cancelled and postponed due to rain. The weather seemed to be fine until the last hours before match time when a barrage of rain fell and soaked Wade Walker’s Front Field where the match was suppose to take place. As one of the elders stated, ” I heard the youngsters were doing a rain dance and praying to the sky gods.” Veterans manager Sir English Klop proclaimed that “.. we are going to put them away early next week, still! ”

In between time

“One A Day” Ray is still serving his one month suspension for breaking the Genesis Code of Conduct and is eagerly awaiting his return to The GPL. Despite his time off the league, “One A Day” is still the leading goal scorer in the league, with 3 goals credited to him.
