Gold Gemz @ Red Side — Match Day 11

It was a thrashing. No more said. It did not look good. Another day at the office and we have disgruntled employees. This match was reminiscent of the Arsenal Chelsea thrashing earlier this week, only the Gold team was worst than Chelsea. We did not think that could be possible, but it happen. The Red team once they scored the first goal felt the fever and the Gold team could not stop them no more to be said. The highlight of the match was multiple piles mash ups and salads. Bruce was the man of the match. He felt the power and exalted it, scoring two of the four goals. According to team manager Mahad, “our team does not have any discipline and cannot concentrate.. some of our players seem to have lost their pride along the train line or left it at home, without fight you cannot win.. it does not look good right now, we will see what the next few weeks bring…”

Gold Gemz @ Red Side — Match Day 9

Ball game hot-a-fire! The red team was on a relentless attacking spree. When they attacked it was like a wave of red bees swarming, stinging and moving. The result was a two to zero beating of the Gold team, who just could not get it together. Their defense could not withstand the wave that came at them. Tried as the may, it did not happen for them this evening. Smiling like a Cheshire cat, each member of the Red squad held their heads high because they knew they collaborated and got the job done. The Man of the Match was Emilio aka Trini who could not do anything wrong on this match day. He tapped in two and that was all she wrote for the Gold team, who just could not rally back at all. Highlights of the game was Joel, as usual by now it should be known that he administers salads and piles on a regular occurrence with Mahad and ???  falling victims to the salads and ??/ receiving  a pile. Andre was also seen mashing up ???  and it was Jeremy who gave it to ??? in slow motion. Excitement.

All in all a very well played game and we look forward to match day 10 next week as the saga continues. Can the Gold team redeem themselves as they are falling not-front on the league table?

Gold Gemz @ Red Side — Match Day 7

High caliber stakes and passion drove this match. The Gold Gemz had a match to win but could not do it. The Red team had a match game lead to maintain and they did it. Thanks to a deflected goal from Mahad, shot by Trini, on a pumsist from Jiggy, due to a turnover from Dre, was all it took to nail the coffin. That was primarily the match. Both team played well and the tension went back and forth and at the end of the night, the Red Team was the victor. Joel was deemed the man of the match and the saga continues on match day 8.

Red Side @ Gold Gemz — Match Day 6

It seems like this is a recurring theme. The Gold Squad did not show up and they were punished for it. The match started with them having 7, then 8, and then 7 again, against 11. By the end of the match, it was 6 against 11, and it did not look good. Despite a barrage of attacks from the Red Side, I don’t know how they only got 5 scored on them. This reporter heard G-man say that Jeremy saved 9 shots from him, and in turn, Richie saved just as much if not more. However, G-man got 2 in, and likewise Delibe and the man of the match Mackie with another two to pour salt in the wound. At the end of the match, it was a pum-sist from Amani to Steve who saved some face for the Gold Gemz. The match looked horrible but inspirational; I saw Jogo work until he was exhausted, playing forward, midfield, and defense. At times, it felt like it was 4 against 11. This was an onslaught from the Red Side, who, after last week’s somewhat of an embarrassment, decided that they were going to score and try new tactics. They were more reserved and patient, slowly picking the Gold side apart due to fatigue and injured players. With some key players missing from the Gold Team, the team could not stop the inevitable. Rest assured, Matchday 7 will bring some sort of a redemption arc to the scene. We can only wait and see. The highlight of the match was the one-man army Adhjogo, taking on the entire Red Side while, unfortunately, in the end, getting a pile from G-man.

Gold Gemz @ Red Side — Match Day 5

“They were outclassed…,” according to Manager Mahad from the Gold team, he stated that they were simply the better team on this day. Despite an unfortunate event leading to conceding the first and only goal scored by the Jah-E for Red team, they picked themselves up and went on to equalize with a stunning cross from Amani to Indian for a goal. The Red team, as usual, showed up with a full squad and seemed ready for damage. However, the Gold team, which started the match with eight players, was used to the odds against them, showed no fear but resilience.

From this reporter’s point of view, the Gold team started the match as the underdog but was never outclassed. They took it to the Red team with one-touches, quick defensive reflexes, and fast counters that left the Red team in awe. At one point, I heard a Red player say, “We are playing like we have 8…” This sentiment appeared to be the theme for the first half of the match.

With the reinforcement of two players, the Gold team tightened up their tactics and shifted to a defensive strategy in the second half, even with the loss of two players. Richie, the Gold team’s goalkeeper for the match, earned his keep and was indeed the man of the match. He faced a barrage of shots fired at him, with lone defender MahadAmir, who seem to have been in every passing lane opened by the Red offense. Try as they have, the Red team could not penetrate the impregnable fortress set up by the Gold team.

Some highlights of the match included Cat, who slipped causing the conceding of the first goal, 1 A Day Ray receiving a pile from Joel, who incidentally seemed unable to stand on his feet due to defenders taking no shorts from him and Indian mashing up a Red player and scoring the equalizing goal. Overall, it was an intense battle, and as the Gold team put it, “it’s like a win for us. We were outnumbered but never outmatched or overwhelmed. We withstood severe attacks from the Red team and seemed to be the better for it.” The saga continues as Match Day 6 is just around the corner, with the two teams still even on the table.
